Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 onion, chopped (optional)
- 1 pound cremini mushrooms (or button mushrooms)
- 2 tablespoons dry white wine (optional)
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves, chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pinch salt, to taste
- 1 pinch pepper, to taste
Instructions
- In a large skillet, melt the butter and olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion (if using) and sauté until translucent.
- Add the mushrooms and cook until they are browned and tender.
- Stir in the minced garlic, thyme, and parsley, cooking for an additional minute.
- If using, add the dry white wine and let it simmer for a couple of minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste, then serve warm.
Notes
- For a keto-friendly option, omit the wine.
- Feel free to add other herbs like rosemary or basil for extra flavor.
- These mushrooms pair well with steak or grilled chicken.
