Description

A simple and delicious meatloaf recipe topped with savory mushroom gravy, perfect for a comforting dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups beef broth


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, milk, egg, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.
  4. Bake for 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  5. While the meatloaf is baking, prepare the mushroom gravy. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  6. Add sliced mushrooms and cook until browned.
  7. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  8. Gradually add beef broth, stirring constantly until the gravy thickens.
  9. Once the meatloaf is done, let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  10. Serve slices of meatloaf topped with mushroom gravy.

Notes

  • For added flavor, you can include herbs like thyme or parsley in the meatloaf mixture.
  • Leftover meatloaf can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
